Drink filtered water instead of bottled water. Use a stainless steel water bottle instead of plastic

More than 38 billion water bottles end up in landfills every year, taking an average of 700 years before the even begin to decompose.  It takes over 1.5 million barrels of oil - enough to fuel 10,000 cars - to manufacture the number of plastic bottles that Americans drink from on an annual basis.  Switching to tap water will conserve valuable resources and significantly reduce waste.
