King Neptune under new ownership

King Neptune restaurant’s Bernard and Pam Carroll have sold their popular nightspot to brothers Earl McPherson and Danny McPherson, owners of the Shore Shack on Old Causeway Drive. And while the dining room will close for a menu re-creation, an interior renovation and staff retraining, the bar will remain open with a limited menu.

"We’re very excited," said Danny McPherson on Saturday, Jan. 28. McPherson said they took ownership of the business on Friday, Jan. 27.

McPherson, a former Bank of America vice president, and a former chief financial officer for ReMAX, admitted he had a minimal restaurant experience.

"We’ll be bringing in experts to help with the new look, the new menu and staffing," he said.

When the Neptune dining room reopens sometime in March, the McPhersons will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

He said he was not certain whether they would bring the Shore Shack’s donut and sweet treat menu to King Neptune.

"The hours at the Shore Shack have changed from 7 a.m. to noon. In some form or fashion, the Shore Shack will live," McPherson said.

He added, the King Neptune bar, "will not skip a beat."
