WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH NC VISITORS CENTER OPENS
The official opening of the Wrightsville Beach Visitor's Center took place Wednesday April 20. The Chamber of Commerce hosted a gathering with a buffet. Members and guests mingled and discussed the beauty and advantages of the Wrightsville Beach area and local business issues such as real estate. Michelle Clark of Intracoastal Realty and Dwayne Tyndall of RBC Bank toldabout turtles they had rescued around the Island on its busy streets. Michelle Clark said she and Intracoastal Realty have seen an increase in showings to people who want to move to or buy second homes in Wilmington and Wrightsivlle Beach. Dan Cameron of Crescent State Bank said business is picking up. Robby Collins of Collins and Collins Law Firm along with his sister, alderman Susan Collins, and his aunt Rosalie Howell talked about the Howell Cottage, their ancestral home that is now the home of the Wrightsville Beach Visitor' Center. Others reminisced about their childhood on Wrightsville Beach and what a great place it was to grow up or visit. The Visitor Center is open from April to September from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Mon.-Wed., 10am to 3pm on Thursday; 9am to 3pm on Fri. and Sat. and 1pm to 4pm on Sundays, at 305 W. Salisbury St. which is the left fork after the draw bridge.
